Showcasing the Bathroom

Bathroom updates are one of the most rewarding changes you can do in your home.  I especially enjoy when a customer says, “let’s gut the whole thing and start fresh.”  Of course, you can add a new beautiful look simply by changing out the countertops, mirror, and lighting.

One of the most requested items on the “To-Do-List” for a bathroom is a tub/shower conversion to a full shower with new tile (stone, ceramic, subway, etc.), adding a soap/shampoo niche, and new modern hardware. Seamless glass around adds to the elegance of the new shower.  My favorite is developing patterns with the tile to build the “show case” experience.

Recently, we adapted a master bath to accommodate wheelchair accessibility.  We added 36-inch pocket doors, increased the floor space in both the bathroom and toilet room, and created a walk-in/roll-in shower unit.  Needless to say, the homeowners were thrilled not only with the added open space but for the updated look to their bathroom.

Call us or email so we give you a free estimate for a bathroom remodel or any other project you have.

Our “showcase home” is about new homeowners who loved moving to Encino Park in San Antonio, TX, however they knew that this home needed updating and improvements before it could become their “dream home.” After hearing positive reviews of our company from friends and neighbors, they choose Renovate Paint and Design to help make this happen.

4 Bathroom Updates to Increase Your Home Value

Bathroom Bef-Aft Brown

One of the best ways to bring value and beauty to your home is to update your bathroom.  According to the website “Remodeling”, their 2013 Cost Vs Value Report, within the San Antonio area, a bathroom remodel has a 82.5% cost recuperation average.  Master Bathrooms can run anywhere from $7,000 to $15,000 depending on the size and what is desired.  However, a Hall Bathroom typically costs $4,000 to $6,000 to update.

Renovate Paint and Design’s suggestions are the following:

  • Starting with electrical, do away with all light boxes or Hollywood light systems above the mirror.   Instead, install lighting that looks elegant with a brushed nickel or antique bronze finish.  You can even put in can lights to create a better visual affect.
  • The next item that is a must is in updating the shower.  New tile on the floor and inside the shower along with a seamless shower stall with definitely add to the beauty of your bathroom.
  • New counter tops and possibly new cabinets will almost finish the overall transformation.
  • Finally, do away with all wallpaper and add the finishing touch and warmth of paint to the walls.

It is amazing how much comfort and joy you can bring into your home when you redesign this space.  It will feel like you have created your own personal spa.
